I have practicing the art of Jiu-Jitsu since 2015. I started teaching classes to police officers as a white belt in 2017. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the opportunity came about for me to open my own school and we latched onto it. I was a Blue Belt at that time. Our student body has grown exponentially since we opened our doors. I absolutely love what I do. The journey is long and unforgiving, and I wouldn't want it any other way.
I still compete regularly. I have won and lost. I fully believe that you must first accept and understand failure before you can truly be successful. I have competed at the IBJJF Worlds Masters, Grappling Industries, Modern Flow, Fuji, and ChewJitsu Tournaments and have medaled at most of them.
Favorite Positions and Moves include: Top Side Control, The Powerline Position, the Tornado Clock Choke, The Darce Choke, and the far side arm bar.
I started training when I worked as a Sheriff's Deputy. I wanted to make sure I made it home safe after every shift. Jiu-Jitsu did just that. As many of my students have heard, it was quite useful on the streets.
I never Wrestled or Grappled until I was an adult. I played baseball, football, and Lacrosse in my youth. But Jiu Jitsu was my ultimate calling, I just had to find it first.
I love seeing PROGRESS. On the mats or on the weights I always preach to look for the little wins. 1% every day, your gains become exponential over time. Seeing someone hit a move that they have been practicing for 6 months absolutely is celebrated.
